Alumni Q&A with Veteran John "Buzz" Walters After serving in the Marine Corps for three years, John “Buzz” Walters began his education at Waynesburg University (then College) through the G.I. Bill. He graduated four years later and went on to a career in education while continuing his service to our country. This past summer, Buzz was awarded the John C. “Ace” Mann Blue Cap of the Year Award by the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania.
Alumni Q&A: Zachary DiBeradin ('15) Zachary DiBeradin graduated from Waynesburg University in 2015 and currently works as a Learning Media Designer for Dick’s Sporting Goods. Just two years after receiving his Digital Design degree, Zachary was honored by Whirl Magazine and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as one of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest.

Alumni Q&A: Dayna (Cochran) Haferkamp ('89) Dayna (Cochran) Haferkamp earned her degree in Finance with an Accounting minor from Waynesburg in 1989. She started her career with Federated Investors where she has worked for 28 years. Most recently, Dayna, along with her husband and two sons, have launched a family legacy project and book centered around the idea of visiting every Major League Baseball park in the United States.
Alumni Q&A: Karen Bakos ('75) Karen Bakos graduated from Waynesburg in 1975 with a degree in fine arts. She is retired from her job in customer support and now lives in the United Kingdom with her husband.
